Stop blaming, Act against the monsterous chemical attacks..!!

Damascus :  “At 6:30 in the morning, the plane struck. I ran up on our roof and saw that the strike was in front of my grandfather’s house. I got dizzy and then fainted in front of my grandfather’s garage. I next found myself in a hospital, naked in a bed. I don’t know if my family is dead or alive.” Thirteen year old Mazin Yusuf told the media after the chemical attack happened in Syria in April.

Chemical attacks have a long history that traces back to the First World War Starting from the World War chemical weapons are used in Cold War, Iran –Iraq war etc. Newest one is the chemical attack in Syria.

Everybody knows how deadly these chemical weapons are. It took the life of many and will definitely take the life of a million in the future. There are many nations standing on the verge of a war. We are expecting a war between nations like the US- Korea, India- china at any time in the future. If they all use chemical weapons to defend themselves, then we can’t see a normal future generation. Because, they all will have some kinds of irregularities, since, the chemical weapons are too dangerous.

Even though our world nations and leaders are aware of this, they are doing nothing to put an end to this chemical warfare. Instead they are blaming each other. If a chemical attack happens, our leaders and nations will find ways to blame the opposition nations at first. Before doing anything to rescue the chemical attack victims, they all get engaged in the bloody blame game. The same happens every time.

Even if there are proofs to identify who had actually done this kind of a ferocious act, our media and leaders will neglect it. It is because; those who lost their lives are not celebrities or renowned personalities. They are ordinary people, who are unaware of the cruel faces hiding behind the beautiful masks worn by their beloved leaders.

Everybody has heard about the Iran-Iraq war. But we have heard only the partial story; the complete story is still unknown to many of us. The war between the neighboring Middle Eastern Nations resulted in at least half million causalities and several billion dollars’ worth of damages, but no real gains. Started by Iraq dictator Saddam Hussein in September 1980, the war was marked by indiscriminate ballistic missile attacks, extensive use of chemical weapons and attacks on third country oil tankers in the Persian Gulf. The end came in July 1988 with the acceptance of UN resolution 598. This is the known part.

The unknown part is the involvement of America in the Iran-Iraq war. The Reagan Administration secretly decided to provide highly classified intelligence to Iraq to help President Saddam Hussein avert imminent defeat in the war with Iran.

The American decision to lend crucial help to Baghdad so early in the 1980-88 Iran-Iraq war came after American Intelligence Agencies warned that Iraq was on the verge of being overrun by Iran, whose army was bolstered the year before by covert

shipments of American made weapons.

US officials have long denied acquiescing to Iraqi chemical attacks, insisting that Hussein’s government never announced they were going to use the weapons.

According to declassified CIA documents came out in 2013, the US had firm evidence of Iraqi chemical attacks beginning in 1983. The US government wasn’t always so vehemently opposed to the use of such tactics.

Long before the US decided that both nations were part of an “Axis of Evil” it was determined to see Iraq defeat Iran, even if it meant looking the other way as Saddam Hussein gassed his enemies and his own people.

President Reagan reportedly read the document and scribbled in the margin “An Iranian victory is unacceptable”.

Now it’s proved that America had a role in the war that took the lives of millions. But nobody is there to question. Since they are the world police, the media is not ready to publish a word against them. The interest they showed in reporting the war couldn’t see when the involvement of America in the war was proven. Hardly some magazines and newspapers published reports on the involvement of America.

Every time US do something like this. Only they know what they are aiming for. Even the International Organizations didn’t ask clarification to the US.  Everybody dare to touch

When Iraq began using mustard gas in 1983,theUS government wasn’t sharing intelligence with Hussein, but CIA reports show that Reagan administration officials were regularly updated on the attacks. Nothing was done to prevent them, though US officials knew about Iraq’s efforts to produce the weapons and the locations of its chemical plants.

The US changed its policy on sharing intelligence with Hussein in 1987, when CIA satellite images revealed that the Iranian’s had uncovered a hole in Iraq’s defenses near Basrah, and were building up troops and equipment nearby. A Defense Intelligence   Agency Report warned that if Iran captured the city, Iraq would lose the war.

America since, they rule the world.

Look at the chemical attack happened in Khan Sheikhoun in North Western Syria on 4 April. More than 90 people were killed in the chemical attack. The results of the analysis indicated that the victims were exposed to Sarin. But the Syrian military statement denied the use of any chemical substances.

President Bashar-al-Assad subsequently said the incident was a “fabrication” used to justify a US cruise missile strike on Syria’s Shayrat Airbase on 7 April.

“Our Impression is that the west, mainly the United States, is hand-in-

glove with the terrorists. They fabricated the whole story in order to have a pretext for the attack” he said.

Mr. Assad insisted that it was “not clear” whether an attack had even happened.

“You have a lot of fake videos now” he said. “We don’t know whether those dead children were killed in Khan Sheikhoun. Were they dead at all?”

Many governments such as the US and some European countries and the Gulf Co-Operation council have attributed the attack to the Syrian government. According to investigation by Human rights watch, the attack was conducted by Syrian Government forces form the air using the Soviet made KhAB-250 aerial bombs designed to deliver Sarin. Syria has denied any involvement. Russian too had denied their involvement.

According to US, the Syrian government under Assad was behind the chemical attack.

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres said he was deeply disturbed by reports of the chemical attack, noting that the use of chemical weapons is banned under international law.

This blame game and discussions on Syrian chemical attack is still continuing. Until now, nobody has taken any action against chemical warfare. Nobody has been punished for conducting such a disastrous thing. In Iran-Iraq war there were proofs against America. What happened then? Nobody and no organizations came forward to speak against America. In Syrian attack, the concern is not about the victims, it’s about which country should be blamed first and how should we blame others?

There is an International Law that banned the use of chemical weapons. What is the use of such a law, if nobody is following it?

Chemical attacks will cause much harm to us. Even it is capable to vanish the entire human race from earth.Possible long term effects of such warfare include: chronic illness caused by exposure to chemical agents and delayed effects such as cancer, severe damage to the human foetus and detrimental alterations in the human gene, organic particularly nervous, damage which lasts throughout life, even though the person is not killed.

Still we are watching out quietly this bloody drama of our world leaders. They will not protect us. They are trying to escape from their responsibilities by blaming each other. But you will not  be exempted from the curse of millions of innocent people who lost their lives due to your irresponsibility. So, dear leaders, it’s time for some action. Do something to stop this cruelty.Because, in the coming years, there will be more chemical attacks in more nations, since, the rivalry between nations are growing up. If people want to escape, they should find a place in some other planet, since every nook and corner of earth is insecure!!!                                                                                                                                                              Sarika
